My almost 21 month old broke her shoulder falling out of a crib. She is very sensory and stubborn and will not wear a sling or let her shoulder be wrapped. The doctor showed me how to pin her shirt but I don't feel like it is safe and appropriate for my child. The doctor said it's not severe BH and it is ok if she isn't supported and it just loose at her age and they will check it out in a few weeks.
Still, I have such rochmones on her. She randomly will cry because she's misused her arm or moved it in the wrong way. I put bandaids on the outside of her clothes to remind my other children she has a booboo there so they don't pick her up or push her by mistake (and she likes the bandaids) but bandaids and pusis can only do so much. Literally every 15-30 minutes or so she just starts crying and crying that she is in pain. As a mother, I feel like I need to do more for her.
If anyone has had a toddler break a shoulder or other bone, how did you help them if they were too young to really be reasonable? Also, what did you do at night? She has been up the last few nights in pain. I am giving her children's motrin and tylenol. Any other advice?

I'd find a way to bribe her into wearing the sling. Glitter glue, sequins, favorite animals drawn on, patches anything to make it more interesting to her. And I'd bribe with candy and videos. And lots of fun activities that can be done one handed

Do you mean a broken collarbone? Also called a broken clavicle? If so, the sling is totally not necessary at that age, and the pain will greatly diminish over the first few days. Putting on bandaids as a reminder to others is a great idea.
