I need ideas please
I realized that snacks are the biggest part of our grocery budget.
I’m willing to put some effort in but I need ideas.
Kids refuse to take fruit (even exciting ones). All they want is junk. And lots of it. The older kids want 4-5 snacks each, per day. I let them have one small bag of chips and a cookie type of snack but I wish I had healthier stuff to give them.
School is nut free and no dairy snacks allowed.
Healthy fruit snacks and fruit leather cost a fortune where I live.
If anyone will give me ideas I’d be eternally grateful.

Baby carrots with or without chummus
I buy small disposable containers -1 oz or so for chummus or dressing
Popcorn
Home made muffins cookies cakes etc
Baby peppers

I bought some cute sectioned containers and it made my kids happy to take fruit/veg

Mellon

Pretzels/ pretzel chips with or without chummus
Good luck!! It’s a a challenge. Besides for the price the amount of junk my kids can consume it insane!

You can make your own fruit lather in the oven using a jar of apple sauce. Look it up online.
It takes a few hours on low temperature.

Dark chocolate is supposed to be healthy.

But probably not allowed because might have nuts.

Individual chummus with pretzels or tortilla chips

Some kids like the freeze dried fruit

I have one kid who actually really enjoys taking salad (with dressing in a container), even though she won't take fruit.

My kids and all their friends love seaweed. They sell them in big packs at Costco. There’s also squeezable applesauce that come in “ different flavors. Some other ideas are sunflower seeds, tortilla chips with salsa or avocado dip, healthy cereal (my kids love cinnamon oatmeal squares), and some granola bars are nut free.

I was going to say freeze dried fruit is usually not a cheap snack at all! In our house it's a major treat!! LOL
