Its one of the names we have a definitive meaning given by Rashi.
It doesn’t have to be superficial, What Shifra/ Yocheved did was nurturing and life giving

I have a shifra. 2 things are very meaningful to me:
1) who shifra in the Torah was!! The passuk says that the midwives were yirei Elokim. Halevai my Shifra will be a yarei Hashem too.
2) there's a possuk in Tehillim with the same shoresh of shefer (like naftali ayalah shelucha hanosein imrei shefer)
Tehillim: af nachalah shafrah alai, my portion is pleasing/beautiful to me. Halevai my daughter have a beautiful life and that she always see the good in everything

My name is shifra.
I think it also means improvement (like to improve looks or like the shofar that's a call to improve )

It's not beautiful, it's "made beautiful" like made endearing. Hence the connection to improvement.
