The bikur cholim place is full.
I know there are some hotels and Ronald McDonald house in the vicinity.
Trying to figure out what my best option is- preferably walking distance and not too expensive...

There's another apartment in the same building as the bikur cholim apartment I think it's chai lifeline apartment. Call chai lifeline lakewood to find out

OP, did you find a solution?
I came back to say that if you don't actually need to walk it may be easier/cheaper to find a motel across the bridge(s) in jersey - we've stayed in Cinnaminson (I think not too far off the Betsy Ross Bridge) and also in Mt. Laurel (right off exit 4 on the tpk - but that location gives you the option to get the 295 to the Whitman or continue on 73(? I think) to the Betsy Ross or even the Franklin bridges. I'm sure there are other variations of locations, these are just solutions we've used...
Also, even if the Chai /bikkur cholim rooms are booked, I've walked to those apartments just to sit in the common areas and to take a shower and just breathe.
