- prepare dinner early in the day

I’m very grateful for my career which supports my family. But I walk in the door with my kids and the dinner prep with everyone needing something else really gets to me...

And I prepare dinner early in the day only BECAUSE I work.....I'd rather wake up a half-hour earlier to prepare dinner so I can give my kids the attention after work/school.

Looking for support not to be shamed. For various reasons that doesn’t work for me right now ...

I would take a 20 minute power nap before the after school rush. (Dream on….)

Oops! Sorry, hadn't meant for it to come across that way. I'm rather trying to convince myself that -to fill in the blank- I would.....

I would probably be unproductive and not get anymore done around the house than I already do. I would also probably go stir fry crazy. (Speaking from experience, I was a SAHM of several babies for several months before I started my job).

Have fewer dust bunnies, hoover more often and iron occasionally.

Lose my mind and be depressed
I was not working for a while and I went crazy, it didn’t help my productivity, it just made it worse

Always make supper for DH. I literally don't have energy to sometimes and I hate it.

I would lose my mind. I was fortunate enough to do the SAHM thing full time for almost 5 years. I needed to start working again. I enjoy my kids MORE now. Getting the balance right is tricky but necessary.

Lose my mind....

I was a SAHM for over a decade. I loved it and wouldn't change it for the world. I went back to work when my youngest was in school full day.

I took a part time job that quickly became full time. I would love to go back to part time so I can see the inside of a mall or clothing store.

Another post to say...
I would lose my mind. As challenging as it is to work full-time while raising a family, I could not stay sane staying home full time. I need the structure in my day/week and the sense of accomplishment that comes with contributing out in the world. And adult interaction on a daily basis. Especially during a pandemic. I work in healthcare and while scary at times to work throughout the pandemic in a hospital, I think the alternative would have done far worse damage to my mental health.

another "lose my mind".
I actually find maternity leave insanely boring, and take jobs in summer camp to get myself and kids out of the house.
I think I would enjoy working shorter hours than I do now though...
