Any good reasonably priced hotels on the NY side? Also, any good attractions besides maid of the mist?

Cave of the Winds is a must-do if it's open. The US side of Niagara is pretty run down, so I would probably stay in Buffalo, where there are nicer hotels, minyan, and some kosher options at the supermarket. The Residence Inn is across the street from YI of Buffalo.
