Hi,
Anyone have experience recently with Nystagmus?
My baby all of a sudden started having her eyes shake and the doctor said it’s Nystagmus. I’m having such a hard time especially since there isn’t much info out there and my doctor said she has no experience with it. It looked like it was getting better but today it doesn’t stop shaking.
Please let me know if you have any experience with this.
Thank you so much!

Did the doctor suggest and eye patch for the good eye and glasses? How's her vision? Maybe call Echo for a referral to a specialist.
I know someone that has a child with nystagmus, she see's an eye specialist in Texas, (Dallas or Houston.) I can try to find out the name of the doctor.

It’s a sign of very poor vision. Please get checked by an ophthalmologist asap.
My friends baby had that and needed a very high prescription of glasses.

We checked it and they said she could see. With the eye glasses did the eyes stop roaming?

Her baby didn’t get glasses until he was almost 2 because the doctors kept saying he was fine. Please go to a very good specialist. Her poor baby was nearly blind and she had no idea.
I don’t know for sure if his eyes stopped shaking afterwards but I think so.

The ophthalmologist I took her to said to wait 2-3 months so the eyes are more developed to take her to a specialist. I can tell she sees because she looks at the mobile on her swing and she’ll smile when she sees me….

My daughter had mild nystagmus in addition to other diagnosis, the opthalmologist wasn't concerned and she outgrew it.
