Since when do people give end of year gifts? Isn't Chanuka and sometimes Purim enough?

Ok, that's what I thought, and always did lol, but my husband keeps asking me if I'm sending something for the teachers and rebbi. I think I'll gift myself something for getting through the school year .
Not easy to be in five different grades at once!!

I live in Flatbush. I don"t do end of the year gifts, I take advantage of chanuka and purim as teacher appreciation time
I work in a school (not a teacher) and I don't usually see alot of gift giving ay the end of the year like I see by chanuka and purim

Ok, thanks so much! Do people send thank you cards expressing appreciation?
There are a few teachers that I would really love to thank, but I feel stupid sending a thank you card without a gift.
