Definitely Mary Poppins if she hasn't watched it. Not scary movies like Matilda and home alone! Not for a 7 year old although my 8 year old son watches them with my older kids 🙈he seems to enjoy them lol..I'm sure he was 7 when he watched them.

Only my oldest liked mary poppins, my younger ones and my husband thought it was incredibly boring.
The only one I thought would be too scary was Charlie and the choc. Factory, and thats the one my family enjoyed.

7 is really young-- I found Matilda really really disturbing as an adult. Charlie and the chocolate factory too. Lion King and and pretty much all disney, has very scary/intense parts, usually involving the death of a parent . I like finding nemo a lot-- I let my young kids watch it at my parents but I would skip past the sad beginning after the mother got killed by sharks and start at beginning of the real story when nemo is off to school.
I think inside out is a great idea too-- all ages enjoy it.

Not to derail the thread but what age would you consider a light in greytower for?

Hi I’m bumping this thread even though I’m looking for a movie for my 8 yr old son. The problem is that although he wants to watch and this wouldn’t be his first movie night he is very sensitive.
I’m quoting Odelya because You seem in line with my concerns.
Based on recommendations-we did paddington bear last time and he had nightmares after.
So I’m worried about charlie and the chocolate factory and other recommendations given here.
. I found Up too depressing. And we have done inside out.
So any other recommendations? We promised him a movie night.
Thanks.

Awww, you’ll get to see baby bigsis in that one ☺️
Insane to think that it was filmed in 2004 and is going on 17 years old… this is a classic movie, folks

Thanks. Wizard of oz is good idea. Weve read the books. The others still seem scary. I guess we are atypically sensitive.
Thanks again

Thats cute! You starred in it.
Not for my son though. I guess I should have started a new thread. I always thought preferable to bump old ones. I guess thats a mistake.
Thanks
