I probably spend somewhere around 300-400 shekel a week on produce. Family of 6. We eat locally and in season, and for the most part don't buy pre-washed/pre-cut. We eat a mostly vegetarian diet so this is a significant portion of our food budget. This includes a weekly CSA delivery.

How do you cut down on this expense?
I don't buy expensive fruits like honey crisps or avocado but I still feel like I'm spending too much and would like to hear what others spend. |
$125-$175 per week, family of 6- 2 adults, 4 kids ages 14-5

Hi we are a small family but fruits and vegetables are very important part of our diet. However, in order to cut down on the expense - I Dont buy these at my regular kosher supermarket. It is sooo much less expensive in the fruit/vegetable stores. Extra trip but so worth it. Of course if you need pre-checked items, that you'll still have to splurge for.
