Hi,
We will be moving soon, and we got a couple of quotes from movers. One gave us a quote, and then told us that the recommended tip is 15%.
We didn't end up going with him, we went with another one. He gave us a price ($1,200 if that matters), but when I asked him how much the tip is, he said 'whatever you want'.
What is the typical tip? Is it usually based on the price of the move? Or is it usually a set amount per guy? Not looking to overspend but also want to give what's fair/expected.

15% sounds right at about 180. If there are 3 people you can give them $60 each. I think we gave something like $80 each and that seems to be in line with 15% of our total.

Hi. I think the correct tip range may be $20-$50 per mover, depending on the size and distance of the move. When we moved out of state, $50 per mover. Moving locally and not much heavy furniture- $20 each. Good luck with your move!

I gave 20 each..think there were five ppl...they were very upset they expected at least 40 each
