I am not OP bit I just googled this and it sounds AMAZING!

Why haven't I heard if it before?!?!

Arcticblue you posted under amother, so I wouldn't be able to PM you.

Light-colored, can you tell me more about it?
Specifically for very young children ages 2-3?
What type of children do you treat?
How does one access this therapy?

Thank you!

I've been told by reliable people in the field who aren't trained in it themselves that it's very effective.

We had very successful results elsewhere for our 5 year old. Highly recommend. Dr Faigi Rosenberg and Dr Chana Hoch in Queens.

I did PCIT with my son when he was younger with college students being trained in it and under supervision. It wasnt in NYC.

I had to stop bc we moved but it was great.

I cant promise results for kids with Pandas anxiety but I can only think of positive results. Nothing negative. It will help give you skills to respond and interact with your child.

For those that did it can you explain what a session is like. Is it very hard on parents end

For us it meant both parents coming to each session and spending half the session playing with our child and the other half watching spouse play with child through video feed to a separate room.

We were taught the principles of the therapy beforehand and during the sessions the parent playing with the child is wearing an earbud so the therapist can guide from outside the room and the therapists can see and hear everything that happens through a one way mirror. Besides for the weekly therapy each parent dedicates 5 minutes a day (as often as possible) to practicing the skills taught in therapy.

It was a lot of hard work. But the results were amazing. The basic idea is to work on building a healthy, strong, positive relationship with the difficult, defiant child and once that is well-established, to begin a consistent and simple discipline program that is super effective. My child made tremendous gains as soon as we began the discipline portion of therapy. And our relationship got much better with the first half. All in all, I would highly recommend this therapy for a child that meets the targeted population.
