You need to see if he will go to bed nicely at his bedtime, as he does need to sleep, or is he just going to be high strung, restless, anxious, and unable to sleep? If he will go to sleep, he should.If he is not going to go to sleep, being in bed will make him more anxious, and keep him up even later causing him to get poor sleep when he finally does fall asleep . If that is the case, let him do something fun for an hour and then go to bed.

I would give him melatonin and sit on his bed. If he’s anxious sending him off to bed won’t accomplish anything.
