I’m making bbq chicken wings with drummettes. I just couldn’t feed my children skin and hair. Next time I will make it with chicken drumsticks. I will try to find little ones. Am I crazy?? It took me so long.

Isn't it easier to take them off once they are done?

I order my chicken bottoms without skin, and don't do wings. Especially for children, it's just too much work for too little chicken.

I don’t do wings. It is chiefly bone and fat and skin with relatively little meat. You can get the same profile with skinless thighs or take the skin off drumsticks.

Not crazy just a waste of money because drummettes are more expensive.
FYI the leftover hair usually burns off while grilling.

Thanks for the reply. Its crazy because it’s a lot of work. The butcher said they don’t sell skinless chicken drummettes. No I baked it in the oven. Anyway I don’t want to eat burned hair. I never understood how are people ok with ashes of burned hair in their food.

Drummettes aren’t more expensive than wings if you consider the usable meat. Wings are extremely expensive per pound when you eliminate the inedible parts unless you consider skin, gristle amd fat to be worth eating.
