A lot of perishable items (fish sticks, French fries, hot dogs etc) I received in a food box were mostly defrosted. Would you refreeze or throw it out?

Meat or fish I’d cook and then refreeze. French fries or bourekas or veg or vegetarian sausages etc I’d refreeze.

Depends how long since distribution started. If just started I’d refreeze.
I just picked up boxes that were sitting outside and someone there told me they were out 24 hrs bec distribution had been scheduled for day earlier and they were left over.
Of course I threw everything out that was perishable
. A guy took right before me and no one told him and I hope he realized it sat out 24 hrs in 75 degrees
ETA: hot dogs were probably never frozen.
French fries is refreeze.

Like S1 said. Meat/chicken/fish I would either use right away or cook and then freeze. French fries, waffles, falafel balls, pizza-refreeze. Fish sticks aren’t eaten in my house and I would give them away with full disclosure about the frozen status.

I called meal mart yesterday because my chicken nuggets were defrosted. The person I spoke to said it's safe to refreeze.

Yup. If the school doesn't have free/subsidized lunch they can still give out boxes.

Most items I'd refreeze. But I know what came from the boxes, so if it looked, smelled, or tasted strange when I took it out, then I'd throw it out.
