Going to school
The norm that was done
We would all arrive
Each and everyone
We all took our places
Learned the whole day through
Break for recess
And go home too
We were all friends with each other
Bonded and we fought
We were a good class
The teachers have taught
Yet we had a classmate
She didn't quite fit in
What we did
We just couldn't win
One day she was called out
To the principal she went
In her office
The rest of the time she spent
When she returned to our room
Her face was streaked with tears
The teacher continued
Moving on did her peers
Then we heard gasping
Choking sounds we heard
From our classmate
We thought the noise was a bird
She was crying and sniffing
And held her breath and face was blue
It took us so much time
Until we came to
Our classmate was troubled
We tried to help but no avail
Wasn't like us
Wasn't like we didn't care
But then school came to a close
And we moved on in our lives
The next time we heard from her
We were in for a surprise
She got married and had a kid
Had life she had and did
Then we heard she was divorced
Wasnt too much of a surprise
Of course
We all knew she had struggles
But really so did we
We felt bad
And donated to her campaign of charity
The one day I got a message
On my phone
I burst into tears
And I was shocked to the bone
We heard that our classmate
Has passed away
Taken her life
The previous day
Her abusive marriage
Has taken its toll
She needed a way out
Of her treacherous hole
I am sorry for her
For all she has gone through
I wonder if there was anything
We were able to do
May her neshama have an aliyah

Wow, as somebody who also had a classmate who committed suicide (it was a big national story), I feel you.
It was a horrible feeling when she died.
