be"H we'll be visiting in Flatbush for the month of July and I'd like to know if I could feel comfortable taking health walks in the neighborhood? Are there better/ worse times to be out (assuming I'll be by myself sometimes)?
does anyone have a specific area that they like to walk?

By health walk im assuming you mean a general walk around the area?
Depends where you’re staying but the Jewish area of Flatbush is pretty safe during the day. Maybe if you’re going alone you wouldn’t feel so safe when it’s dark out but driving down ocean parkway I often see people walking till 9/10 at night at least.

Ocean Parkway (equivalent of East 6th) can be nice if you're in that part of Midwood. There are designated walking lanes. Bedford (equivalent of East 25th) is also nice because it's a wide street with nice houses.
In terms of safety, it really depends where you are. I think it's generally safe but there are some areas I would avoid (I'm not too comfortable where Midwood bleeds into real Flatbush/East Flabush past Brooklyn College).

Yes, during day , with Hashems help, you shouldnt worry. Down ocean pkwy, as mentioned, or other nice blocks
