We're redoing the bathroom on a tight budget. The bathtub is a really ugly color.
What are the options? And specifically, has anyone put in a bathtub insert? And if you did, what advice would you offer?

Reglaze. It’s not expensive and it’s better quality than an insert. It doesn’t last forever though. I started noticing a bit of chipping after about 5 years

Yes, reglaze. Make sure that you hire someone who uses the proper equipment to do it right and not just the spray cans from Home Depot. They basically take off all the hardware, give it an acid bath that strips off whatever color and glaze is on there and then they glaze it fresh. You can make it whatever color you’d like.
