A feeding specialist (speech pathologist).

You need a feeding therapist. They are usually speech therapists but I have heard of some OT specializing in feeding. Depending on the severity of the case you might need to do an intensive 3 week boot camp type place or inpatient. I would suggest you call a therapy agency like Hamaspik or your local Bikur Cholim for referrals. It probably won't be covered thru the school district but if it is a medical need your insurance might cover it.

I would look into a place like rusk or st Mary’s for very skilled speech feeding therapists experienced with oral aversions.

Good luck

My kids did OT for feeding issues (some OT’s were better than others)

My pediatrician recommended Ellyn Satter’s book.

It’s worth reading.

St.Mary’s has an amazing program, but they don’t take anybody… kid has to qualify & there is a huge waiting list.
Years ago, my son got a spot… but our insurance wouldn’t cover any of it & it was also a very long drive
As menthioned before we payed a therapist privately

How exactly?

Read BestBubbys post. Sounds like training a dog. The goal of ABA is not the child's care or for them to actually function. It's to make everyone else's lives easier. It ignores the child's real needs and feelings. It's very abusive.

The person who invented ABA also used and supported electric shock therapy.
