I'm trying to cut down my salt intake to reduce swelling in my legs, but omg I love my shabbos dips! Does anyone have ideas for low sodium dips I can eat with my challah on shabbos instead of tomato dip? Thanks!

Did you know that going very low carb reduces water retention?

I think you'll have to make your own. I like to roast halved eggplant until soft and squishy scoop out of the skin and blend with one or two spoons of techina and a garlic clove. Also good with roasted peppers or zucchini. Sub in mayo if you prefer. Sometimes I'll even make no salt pickles for dip,

I usually don't have to add much salt to techina or pesto mayo (is mayo high sodium on its own?)

In the summer when the tomatoes are really yummy I love making tomato confit. https://nocrumbsleft.net/2016/.....nfit/

I meant sour pickles I bring them to a simmer them in equal parts vinegar and water with garlic and any spice you like then let them cool and serve. You can add a little salt if you are able to eat it but if not they're still better than no pickles at all

No. I’m saying if you go low carb and stop retaining water, you’ll be able to eat salt, and in Fact will likely need added salt.
