I'm currently a morah, I teach preschool children in a Jewish school.
I actually prefer (don't go into shock) working with middle school/preteens and young teenagers. I have a bachelors degree in history. I have one more year to go in getting my masters degree in Special Ed.

I'm really unhappy with my work/life balance at the moment (aka I have none, I work roughly ten hours a day during school year) and am expecting a child IYH, the first of many. My husband works full time and makes a decent living but has a condition that I think would benefit from having a wife at home to take care of thing (sorry I don't want to get into specifics). I'm also kind of traumatized from having neglectful parents myself and want to be around for my kids. But the rub is, we need my income in addition to DH's to send the kids to school/ we live in an expensive area. I make 39,000 a year. Any ideas how I could turn my career into something where I could work from home with more flexibility? Obviously, this is a long term project, I'm just brainstorming here. Aside from Education I coached a lot of sports in college/ a few years post college ( I haven't always been frum.)
Thanks!!

If you are working 10 hours a day, sounds like it is in a day care setting, which can be draining.
Why not look for a job in middle or high school? In a public school the day is generally between 7-8 hours. Usually the older grades start early in the morning so you'd finish earlier in the day. You'd make more than your current salary. With a masters in special Ed, you have options besides being a general education teacher, so less worries about tons of papers to grade or classroom management.
I worked in a public school for many years, and was generally satisfied with my job.
If you want an at home job only, you can look into opening a tutoring business. It would likely take some time to build up into more than your current salary.

You can easily work from home as an office assistant and make that salary.
