I noticed yesterday that he developed a red pimple or bite on his head. Not sure if it’s related but I saw it after I came inside (we were sitting in the shade for a few minutes). Should I take him to the doctor or assume it’ll go away?

Bug bite probably. Assume it'll go away. If it swells give Benadryl. If it looks worse in a day or two, call the doctor

OP is there a reason you think it's something other than a mosquito bite?

My pediatrician advised drawing a circle with pen around the perimeter of the bite and see if the redness spreads beyond that. If it’s not spreading, it’s fine.

Only reason I was wondering was because it looked more like a pimple than bite. But it’s not spreading Bh.

Is it a white tipped pimple?

I've been able to take pictures of things like that and just text my doctor. Maybe you can do that.
