An email I received from a concerned person.
I notice many children and women wearing TOMS shoes and am aware that people plan on wearing them for תשעה באב since they appear to be non-leather. The TOMS website clearly states (Quote #1) that the soles of their shoes are made of leather (Pigskin to be precise).
Unless you purchase VEGAN TOMS, (Quote #2) your shoes DO have a leather sole.
Please publicize this. Thank you~

Anyone have a 10 year update?
I want to get a pair of TOMS for Tisha Bav/YK as they're much more comfortable than Crocs... but I'm wondering if their shoes are all still made with leather insoles? They don't say that online...
Anyone know which ones (if any) are made with no leather?

Does pigskin even fit the halachic criteria for leather? (Kinda like how llama wool and linen is not shatnez) I guess it's a question for a rav....
