Wanted to make some salmon this Shabbos but the salmon has a weird colour I made pictures

Is that brown in the middle of the second pic the shadow of your hand holding the camera/phone? Otherwise, I don't see anything wrong w/ the color of the fish.

Shadow of my phone, and the edges of the salmon is not pink but more grayish or lightly brown.

Looks like fish fats, I would personally open the package and if it smells good, I'd cook it no problem. But maybe wait to hear from others with more fish expertise than I.

How old is the fish and have you kept in refrigerated. It looks like it is one of those very good factory sealed which preserves fish for a long time.

As other have posted, open it and smell it. You can tell if fish has gone bad as it will smell. Fresh fish doesn't have any kind of unpleasant odor but at most the smell of the ocean.
