They're making my outdoor furniture unusable...

There is a tree, the edge of a brownstone rooftop, as well as a metal rod where they like to perch and do their business.

What can I do to keep them away?

Apparently if you hang up a cd it drives them crazy. I have never tried it, but am very tempted to because I have a similar problem...

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I have tried it all. Ultrasonic noise machines, fencing off areas they like to perch, spilling coffee grounds around, spikes on their perching places, hanging cds around and paying my toddler 10 agurot for every bird he shoos away (he made 2.50 shekels and then gave up).

I found the glue very sticky and didn't come off the pavement after.

Maybe find one that can be put up with wire or zip ties.

I have seen CD's work. Someone laid them right on top of her air conditioner- I think she glued them on.

One pigeon likes to strut around the porch. At first I thought it was sick or unable to leave, but it flew off at one point. And returned! I don't see anything it might be coming back for. Isn't hatching season over, anyway?
