Can you buy that sweet soy sauce they usually give with sushi? What is it called?

I buy it in the sushi department at my local grocery store. It comes in a bottle labeled “sweet sauce”

Unagi sauce. Unagi means eels. Apparently, a traditional Japanese sauce to go with your eel sushi.
I have a bottle of it in my fridge from Rollmasters, but Kikkoman also makes unagi sauce with a hechscher.

It looks like soy sauce but tastes sweet and amazing. |
Not sure what sauce specifically you mean, but teriyaki sauce is basically soy sauce + brown sugar and sometimes honey and ginger. It is thicker than soy sauce. Perhaps this is what you mean?

When you buy sushi, with it you can get soy sauce, spicy Mayo, and/or eel/sweet sauce. It’s not teriyaki, although that may be one of the ingredients.

When *I* buy sushi here in Israel, it often comes served with soy sauce, teriyaki (which is similar to unagi, just without mirin and with ginger), spicy mayo, wasabi, pickled ginger.
Not sure what the OP gets when she orders, so I figured I'd mention that possibility. The two sauces are similar.

Their not at all similar.
The sweet sauce is way sweeter and has a way thicker consistency than teriyaki sauce.

Teriyaki is already too sweet and sticky for me, so I guess I'll avoid this other sauce if I ever order sushi in the US.
I'm more of a wasabi gal
