I'm cringing a little as I write this, but here goes.
I'm not in a great place financially. My job doesn't pay much but I need this type of job to get into school, and realistically speaking I'm not going to be able to get a better-paying job till after I finish school (in another 3 years or so). My husband brings home a kollel check which definitely helps, but lately I'm realizing that this just isn't sustainable. I sometimes feel like I'm chasing my tail and I know it'll just get worse because I'm iyH due with my second in a few months.
I am (hopefully) changing jobs soon to somewhere that pays about the same, but I'm hoping it'll be a little more full-time so that should work out to a little more, but until that can happen, here's my question: is there ANYTHING I can do to make a little money on the side? Yes, we have Medicaid, WIC, etc, but I'm just talking about having a little extra cash so I don't feel like my bank account is always empty or about to be. I'm tired of having this cloud of worry always lingering somewhere in my subconscious, and while I know that my options are limited at this point in my life, I'm just trying to ease my stress a teeny tiny bit.
Please, please no judgement or comments about my lifestyle choices or anything else irrelevant to my actual question.
All ideas welcome.
Thank you!

I shouldn't suggest this, because it's TOTALLY not socially acceptable in the USA, but if you are passable at cleaning, housekeeping jobs are always available, require no prep, have flexible hours, and pay pretty well.

Ironing, cleaning houses, late shift at a warehouse/ store etc

But truthfully, if you guys aren't making it, it is time for dh to go get a job and fulfill his halachic obligation to you.

You should probably delete all the personal information if you dont want lifestyle advice. People wont be able to resist. Just ask your question without giving background

If you have stuff laying around the house you can try selling on Facebook marketplace or the like. It won't help long term, but it's some extra cash for now.

Check out Taskrabbit and see if there’s any skills you have that people can hire you for. When my DH wants some extra money he goes on there and people hire him to build furniture, clean lawns, shovel snow etc

Do you like dogs? You can go on Rover and make an account to dog sit or walk dogs

Maybe try turning a hobby into a business? Baking, sewing, etc

DH can also do stuff. I know someone that does deliveries Friday afternoon for a giftware place. There's no kolel then. There are many places where a kolel guy can supplement. There are early morning & evening kolels, shabbos, erev shabbos. Shmiras Hazmamin, Bein Hazmanim etc. DH used to do the last 2 alot.

There are people that pay you to be their chavrusa. DH has 2 such chavrusos. This is outside regular seder.

All this! exactly. This is what my DH does. he brings in a nice amount of income doing some of these things. its def tough for him to have so many obligations but this was our only option and its BH working well.

Can you do hair, wigs or makeup?

Can you do morning babysitting for ladies that need to go to work before camp opens?
Can you do afternoon babysitting for ladies that need to stay at work after camp ends?

Can you drive extra carpool for someone that can't?

Can you make a Friday afternoon/Sunday morning baking class in your apartment to keep the neighborhood girls busy?

Can you bake specialty challahs to sell (cinnamon and sugar, chocolate chip, zaatar, onion)?

Can you lead an exercise class like yoga in your apartment?

These are all things that I would pay for (and for some, have paid for in the past as well).

For the DH - tutoring, sports lessons, drop in hashgacha at a nursing home, learn with an elderly or homebound man, help an old man go to shul and/or put on tefillin. He can ask in yeshiva what's available now. It's very good to know how to lain. Also good to have a good voice to be a baal tefillah.

How little money are you talking about? I make a small amount using Amazon Mechanical Turk, which are short surveys and transcriptions that you do online. There are sites that are similar, but this is the most trustworthy and well-paid one that I've found. Like I said, we're talking very little money-I usually do anything that pays at least $6/hour, but I only spend a few minutes on it each day. It would be really unrewarding to spend a lot of time working for so little.
