Are you allowed to hear the megillah after the seuda?

My brother has a megillah and lains and it would make things LOADS easier if we could hear the megillah later this year. Anyone know about this?

not quite - only from the 11th and then only with a minyon.
But for your Q - yes, you're yotze as long as you hear it before sunset, and yes - been there, done that. (We have a kosher megila, and both my dh and ds's can and do lein.)
