I'm being in Flatbush, Brooklyn for bein hazmanim.
I'm looking for FREE places to 'tour' or as close to FREE as possible 
Appropriate for kids ages 6, 10, 11 and 15.
We'll be riding the subway! Even I am excited for it!
We'll be taking the ferry on 1st ave. Where can this ferry take us to?
My kids like to have fun rather than nature.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

If you're going in to Manhattan, you can take them to Bryant Park, where they have outdoor activities (not sure about Covid changes, though?) and is right around the corner from the iconic New York Public Library lions. Older kids might enjoy walking down the luxury avenues, but that might not interest younger ones.
There are free days in some museums, if that interests your family.
Battery Park has a great view of the Statue of Liberty and is close to Wall Street, where they can see the bull statue and look inside Fraunces Tavern, the really old functioning restaurant where George Washington had a drink. The playground in Battery Park is being renovated now, but there's a cool carousel - though not free.
There's been a lot of hype about the new Little Island park, but it was boring for my younger kids so I wouldn't recommend.
The cable car to Roosevelt Island could be fun for all ages.
