My three year old (who has never been a great sleeper) is up for 1-2 hours in the middle of the night almost every night. I’m so tired! She goes to sleep between 6:30-7:00. She does not take a nap (and hasn’t for almost a year). She goes to sleep fairly easily. She usually wakes up once and I go in and give her her pacifier or something and she’s fine after a minute. Then she’s up around 3 am and wide awake and can’t sleep. She asks for some water which I give her and then just lies there for an hour or two with her eyes wide open trying to fall back to sleep! I lie down with her. I try not to fall asleep because I want to go back to my bed. Help! Anyone have this issue? Any tips or reassurance?

What happens if you give her the water and then go back to your own room?

You might be putting her to sleep a bit too early. Try waiting until 7:30 to put her to sleep.
