My sons teacher said she thinks he has Add. We have an appointment to a specialist. But I'd really prefer not put an 11 year old on medication.
Anyone tried cbd?

Um what?
How is drugging your kid with actual drugs a better option than ADHD meds?

It doesn’t work the same way medication does. Go to a very very competent psychiatrist and tell them you only want to try meds he can wean off instantly if it’s not working.

I don't understand why you're jumping to CBD and medication already. Start with testing, which is a long process. Then whoever does the testing should walk you through the best options for your ds. Adhd is not one size fits all, one solution fits all. Treatment really depends on which symptoms are having the biggest negative impact on his daily life.

Um do you know that medicines have years of studies and trials behind them vs CBD which has none?

And yet, cbd works for me when none of the other medications have worked. Not sure I would try it with kids though.

If no other teacher complained and he's fine at home, then you need to dig deeper to find out what's going on. How do you know he even has ADHD? There's always a reason why a child is acting out.

So your son only seems to have adhd in this teachers class and you want to treat him? Why not take him for an evaluation and then discuss the results with the teacher?

I give cbd gummies to all my kids with anxiety. This was recommended by an integrative psychiatrist. It is in no way as effective as real drugs tho. (We do that too)

Did this integrative psychiatrist see your kids?

I have an appointment, im not a crazy irresponsible parent...I want to be open and make enough research in this field when I arrive to the doctor....maybe he'll agree with me or maybe not. Maybe my son doesn't need anything...

Adhd for sure not...maybe add, again besides for normal kids tantrums every so often, and not having patience to sit by shabbos sueda I dont see anything. But being responsible I made an appointment to hear what a doctor thinks

Thank you! Would you share which kind of gummies so I can tell/ask the doctor about it?

Procana 300mg.
From my experience traditional docs don’t believe in this stuff.

We used CBD for two of my kids too. The psychiatrists were absolutely fine with it. CBD is not a drug! There's no THC in there, sheesh. OP we did not notice dramatic benefits as far as the ADHD went. Like, it seemed to help at first but not long lasting or dramatic. I think DC was on that (for ADHD) for maybe 6 months. It did help one of my children with headache pain and insomnia, and we use it occasionally on an as needed basis. It's dosed by weight, generally. Low doses should not have any drug interactions with prescriptions but higher doses might; a competent pharmacist could help with that question if it arises. The brand I used was NuLeaf oil, liquid dose so I could titrate the dose slowly. I did also try Endoca brand CBD chewing gum. There's a Facebook group that could provide you with more real-life experience of other parents if you are interested. It's called
"CBD For Health #CBD4ADHD"

Also it's disappointing how unsupportive so many of these posts were. Ladies, don't we get enough judgment and not-benefit-of-the-doubt from everywhere else in our lives? Especially with kids who don't fit the norm? If you don't have experience with what OP asked, why respond? Nevermind, don't answer that.
