My dd 11 has had night terrors on and off since she was about 8. When she did have them it was once in a blue like before a doc apt where she was nervous. She hasn't had them for a few months and now she is starting sleepaway camp first time this week and had NT 2/3 nights.
Im so so scared to let her go now. Of course I will warn the camp but do I have her stay home?? I'm scared she will hurt herself.
Also does anyone have a child with night terrors!? What helps? Does it go away😢

I'm sorry 😔
I don't have any experience with this but maybe you should call and ask to speak with the camp mother? I'm sure she's had girls before with night terrors and she can tell you what they did.
Hatzlacha!

15 lb weighted blankets helped my daughter.

I don't think it would be a good idea to keep her home. How will she hurt herself during an episode? At worst, she'll get some scratches and bruises. Of course, you'd rather she didn't but it isn't a reason to deprive her of an experience.

Vitamin b6 can alleviate night terrors. Also may be worth it to have a look at thyroid function, it’s been linked to hyperthyroidism.
