my son got a split on his forehead that I thought healed nicely. now that the scab fell off it's pretty nasty and you can see the split. I would love any natural remedies to have it heal with minimal scarring in the future.
Any ideas?

Massage it with vitamin E oil, preferably in the opposite direction of the scarring (perpendicular to it)

Keep using sunscreen on it. The sun is the worse things for scars

Make sure to put sunscreen on it! Like every time you go out. Even for short periods of time. Even if it's cloudy out. My daughter got a cut on her forehead and everything I read said to be super super careful about sun exposure.

Cover it when out in the sun! Use silicone scar sheets and/or vitamin e oil.

All of this! The silicone type sheet is the only thing that really works. Available at the plastic surgeons office.

My daughter just split her forehead in a nasty way. It was repaired by a cosmetic derm. The instruction sheet says that after the sterile strips fall off, I should apply sunscreen in the morning and throughout the day and a silicon based scar cream twice a day for several months. They also recommended massaging the scar until it softens up.

Just rub it a little. Mederma is a recognized brand.
