Ask your doctor for the pinworm test. I never saw any when I checked, but always in their stool.

The only thing that works is vermox. You need a prescription from your dr. None of the home remedies worked for me.

And make sure to treat everyone in the house. And wash all bed linens.

Unfortunately, if you live in the US, this is the only type you can find OTC. My doctor gave me a prescription for chewable mebendazole to order from a reputable Canadian online pharmacy. You can try to mix the liquid with something else to drown out the taste.
In the meantime, wash her every morning, vacuum thoroughly, keep her nails short, and most importantly, make sure everyone is vigilant about hand washing.

There are going to be lots of things she wont want to do in life. Is she doesnt go for the bribe, hold her down and put it in. The end. Get your husband to help if necessary. What do you do when she doesnt want a vaccine?

My daughter had this a few months ago (also age 4). I would bathe her (sometimes at 2 or 3 AM!) as that was the only thing that made it somewhat better. We took her to pediatrician but he didn't see anything, just gave us a cream to help when it did hurt. After a few weeks it went away. We don't know what it was

THIS. It's a tablet that can be chewed, and it's not bad tasting.
You can order it online from KiwiDrug.com, from New Zealand. When DD was "in the pinworm parsha" I always made sure to keep extras around. Everyone got wormed regularly, including me and the dog.
One out of every 10 kids will have pinworms at any given time, even in an otherwise clean Western country. If there are 20 kids in the class, two have pinworms, and could be passing them around by sharing toys, putting fingers in mouths, etc. It's part of life. Pinworm eggs are invisible, and can float around like dust. You can breathe one in if the soil is disturbed. Gardening, especially in the summer, is always a risk.
So, stock up on the tablets, always have them handy, and buy a fingernail brush for each person in the family. Like toothbrushes, don't share them!
