Pediatrician.
Besides all the financial reasons above, we have a long-standing relationship, he knows her and her medical needs well.
If it had been a more complicated issue, or she hadn't responded well, or there had been serious side effects, I would have gone to a psychiatrist I know well, and with whom we had already consulted.
Also, in many states, there is a program where pediatricians can consult with expert pediatric psychiatrists to get additional support/info etc.

Regular pediatrician. We just added a second med. ped said if this doesn’t help, he would like to refer us out.
