Think befpre you do so, once your Israeli, no way back and must this passport each time you come over, and your children will need to go to the army too for a good few years without leaving for a good reason.

US passports have the abilty to enter Israel, hundrds are coming each day

For now, only if you have a first degree relative living in Israel.

I’m trying to do the same thing. There are instructions on the Israeli consulate’s website and they are different spending on your age. Nefesh b’ Nefesh will only help if you are planning on making Aliyah (based on personal experience). Also, a previous poster is incorrect: if you yourself don’t move to Israel, your children will not be Israeli (it only applies to one generation) and the army is not an issue.

Reach out to the consulate. I just registered my newborn as an Israeli citizen born abroad. It's been much more difficult for me to get a visa, as an American, even with my husband being Israeli.

A visa to where?
US citizens don't need a visa to visit Israel.

A tourist visa is needed for entering from some countries, but the US is not one of the countries from which a visa is required.

There are also student visas, and work visas/work permits, and temporary resident visas.

The new ishur is approval to enter during corona, as well as a visa for those who would otherwise require it.

In other words, if you are from a country which normally requires a visa, the ishur knisa replaces that visa. And it says so at the top, IIRC.

Easy, just travel to Israel, they wont let you leave till you get Israeli passport. That's what happened to me, my kids, other relatives.

(Yes, I know, covid...)
