Okay I have a few kids and I've got plenty of coats in different sizes that I want to keep for when the next child needs that size. However, I would love an easy way to store the coats.
The current coats that are worn are kept on a coat stand in the hallway. At the moment the coats I don't need are bagged up but it isn't a practical way to keep it. I don't have a lot of storage space.

Get a garment bag that compresses down when you seal it with a vacuum cleaner hose. Amazon sells dozens of sizes. Puffy down jackets do best in a blanket sized bag. You will be AMAZED at how much smaller things are when the air is sucked out.
Clothes come out of the bag just as nicely as they went in. All you have to do is to fluff them up. I recommend putting a scented dryer sheet in each bag, to prevent clothes from getting musty.

Thanks, it's a good idea. I tried them once years ago and the clothes ended up all creased, then the kids kept opening the seal, maybe I should try it again now they're a bit older. Wouldn't mind though if there was a way to easily see what I have for each size/season.
