I made a split pea soup with flanken for yomtov but the split peas are not dissolving like they usually do. Any ideas??

Do you live in an area with hard water? That's sometimes is the issue. Add a bit of baking soda to the soup and then cook for a bit longer. I don't know the exact science, but it helps.
