An acquaintance of mine is sitting Shiva. I won't make it there before she gets up. Is it better to text her a message before she gets up? I can't call until my kids are not home with me and then it'll be too late... Or I can make a phone call after they start school but not officially during the Shiva anymore.
Which is a better choice?

Can you do both?
I had a Zoom shiva last year and I really appreciated every text, WhatsApp, email, and phone call.

She probably will appreciate seeing your text during and knowing your thinking if her despite not being there

Text during shiva and then follow up with a phone call after to show the sincerity of it.
