Same. Never heard of it as a name in modern use.
My primary association with the name would be Midrash Tanchuma - named after R' Tanchuma bar Aba, an Amora from the Land of Israel.
I don't really care for the name personally because it evokes the word 'tanchumim' which is condolences.

Grammatically- Tanchum means consolation, Menachem means one who gives consolation, and Nachum is one who is or has been consoled. Nachum is a name in Tanach. The others are nouns that have been made into names.

I think they are all lovely names.

Menachem is also a name in Tanach. Melachim Beis 15:14.

OP here, thank you ladies for these responses! It sounds like the name is considered somewhat atypical but not completely unique.

Name of a character in Hidden by Rochel Istrin. I don't think it's relevant but I assume it must have been a name used by that demographic in that time period....

I'm not familiar with this book, what time period and demographic is it?
