How much weight do you gain during a week of YT?

I just lost a lot of weight and I have almost reached my goal, I just have about 5 pounds to lose.

Over YT, I want to enjoy myself and I plan to eat well, not overindulging though.

So how much weight do most women here gain during those periods wh n there are so many delicious meals?

I want to know what to expect so I'm not disappointed afterwards.

If you eat most meals normally without cutting out a bunch of foods, how much do you end up gaining?

I have this issue every single Shabbos. I’m currently intermittent fasting and eating high protein and low sugar and carbs. Shabbos is not a conducive day for any of these lifestyle changes I’m trying to implement. I find even want to think about it (Pesach I gained back 10 pounds just from matza. I’m not joking.)

So frustrating.

It depends how different your diet eating is from your Yom tov eating.

If you stick to the portions you're used to, the type of foods your used to, it should be not more than a few lbs.

I don't eat that differently and I am very active on yomtov we take lots of walks and spend a lot of time at the park so I dont feel that I really gain much.

I eat the same way I do on yom Tov as I do the rest of the year, but with more special recipes. I don’t weigh myself very often but my weight is pretty much stable.

My weight stays the same. I skip dessert. Make sure I make plenty of veggie side dishes at least two per meal. If I cheat a little it's not extreme.

I make rules for myself.

Protein + veggies at each YT meal and one treat each YT.

I usually maintain over Tishrei

Interesting how some of you are saying that you maintain your weight. I always hear people complaining about the inevitable weight gain.

I don't want to be busy trying to lose all the weight throughout the winter which I gained over YT. I thought I'm basically done dieting.

If you don't continue "dieting" won't you gain your weight back?

No I'll be maintaining, my metabolism is good BH. I don't need to actively diet in order to maintain.

What's the difference between losing and maintaining food wise?

If I overeat and indulge in dessert I gain about 4 lbs, but usually lose it within a week or two of normal eating.

Maybe I gain a pound or two, but that’s more from not being able to exercise the way I usually do due to the out of routine nature of chol hamoed and the actual chagim.

I make a main, veggie based sides or whole grain sides, veggie soups…
Spelt-and-white flour challah
Salads

Very tiny dessert or fruit /compote for dessert

I consume less calories when losing. Whereas when maintaining, I consume more calories, around 1600 so I honestly don't feel like like it's a diet.

The combination of running around and being busy when making y”t = less time to eat.
When being hosted there is more lounging and eating and less stress =more time to eat.
