I have a recipe calling for a pound off noodles cooked al dente. Does noodles mean any sort of pasta? Or do they specifically mean egg noodles like you use for soups and lukshen kugels?
The dish is for garlic Tiryaki noodles.

Usually long ones like fettuccine or spaghetti.
Though I use noodles and pasta interchangeably.

If you're making it fresh, it shouldn't matter. If you're freezing it, pasta doesn't last and egg noodles generally fare well (though I've never tested how they absorb a sauce like teriyaki).
There's also the Asian noodle option, from the fridge/freezer (wonton dough style).
Maybe if you post where the recipe is from, we can figure out which noodles the writer meant.

I would use soba (buckwheat) noodles or whole wheat spaghetti or lo mein noodles.
