Anyone had experience with renting a car on Priceline?
Is there certain days of the week, or time of day that you might get a cheaper bidding deal?
Do you think I'd get a cheaper deal booking in advance or closer up?

As far as I know, renting through Priceline is the same price as renting directly through the rental company. IT's just a convenience they offer, so you if you book a vacation with them, or a flight, they can take you right to car rental, if you need it, without having to leave their site. You won't even be charged for the rental until you actually pick up the car. That's how it worked when we booked with Hotwire.
As far as booking in advance or not...don't think it'll make a difference

Hmm... I didn't know they do that for rental cars, too. Good to know!
I would probably wait until about 5-7 days before you needed the car, then try to bid about 50% of what your size car generally goes for. If your price does not get accepted, you'll still have time to wait the 24 hrs. to try again.

I've rented cars a few times from them for like 12-13 a day and always got brand new gr8 cars. I say go for name your own price. I don't remember if I did it at any special time..but in Florida I think you might need to bid higher than 13 dollars. I got for 17 last time for a mid size car.
