September 2018
In shul on Rosh Hashana
Tears roll down her face
Clutching her Machzor tightly
Standing in her place

She davens hard, with passion
Fervent, a heart so pure
“Hashem please send my zivug,
Who I’ve been waiting for.”

September 2019.
Back in shul, a year later,
A year wiser, a year grown
She sits in shul and stares at
The diamond ring she calls her own.

A kallah young and sweet,
Soon to become a wife,
Davening harder than ever,
For this year will change her life.

September 2020
Another year has passed.
One with so much pain and sorrow,
Yet this young eishes Chayil
Is dreaming of tomorrow.

At times, amidst her prayers,
She looks up and she smiles.
It’s 3 she does now pray for-
She, her husband, and unborn child.

September 2021
A mommy to her princess,
She sits at home this day.
She watches her sweet baby
Crawl on the floor and play.

A silent tear rolls down her face
Full of gratitude, no sorrow.
'Hashem, I love you-Thank you
for all these “tomorrows”'.

I'm so glad you like it! I was having a lot of confusing feelings and just felt like I needed to write them out.
Please do!

Love it! Thanks for sharing.

I always think of my favorite mashal this time of year.
It's the king's birthday and all the people in the kingdom and staff in the castle line up to sing his praises and present gifts. One by one they come forward. After a few hours a lady reaches the front of the line and steps up- it's the nanny for the prince and princess. She steps forward with beautiful words of praise but the king interrupts her and says 'Wait a minute, if you're here, who is watching my kids?!?'.

It's not a perfect mashal of course, but the main point really talks to me. We are watching Hashem's kids and that's our job and what He wants us to be doing.
