I was planning on borrowing my neighbor's cookbook but she's not home! Can anyone post this asap?
Thanks!

BBQ Pepper Steak
3 TBSP oil
2 LB pepper steak
1 cup water
1/2 cup barbeque sauce
4 cloves garlic peeled and crushed
2 TBSP soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 TBSP lemon juice
2 TBSP brown sugar
1/2 TBSP paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
dash black pepper
Heat oil in large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add pepper steak and cook on all sides until lightly browned.
In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients and pour over steak. Lower the heat, cover, and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover and simmer for and additional 1/2 hour.

Thanks to gr8cook for posting this recipe. DH and my very [b]picky eaters loved it.
I added some sauteed onions and peppers for the adult eaters who are not afraid of onions touching their food!

Does this recipe come out really soft? Dh bought pepper steak by accident and I've never had luck with it ... Any recipe I've tried comes out really tough and hard...don't know why this particular meat never works for me...

I found that it stayed soft if I doubled the sauce, or if I had it covered the whole time.
