I just started watching and my daughter wants to join. She is 12 but has already been informed about the facts of life.
Would you/ did you let your kids watch with you and what ages?
What has been your experience?

Hmm, I think I might, depending on the maturity of the 12yo. Be aware that infidelity and abortion come up.

Okay I am just starting out.
I have explained to her about attraction but I feel like thee scene where Elisheva reveals her hair and Ruchami nursed her brother would be too much.

Yeah. Now that I'm thinking about it some more and remembering more scenes, I would agree with this. I think screen the episodes first before deciding which to watch with her. Many are totally clean and wholesome but some might be too much.

What has been your experience? | I guess it depends what community you are in and what you want or dont want your child to know.
My daughter is 13 and I would have no issue with her watching shtisel. If any issues came up that she would ask about, I would make it a discussion. In my opinion, no big deal. But again, it depends on your community and your comfort level.

I think 12 is too young. I think the genius of the show are all the interconnected plot themes, the double entendres, the teeny little hints that you might miss the first time around. In short, I think it's too heavy and dramatic for such a young child.
