Can I cut up a top of the rib roast into small pieces to use in yapchik?

Also, what is the best overnight oven recipe for yapchik, to serve shabbos day?
Tia!

Just make regular potato kugel recipe inserting flanken into the recipe. Then bake 30min on 450 then overnight on 200 or
3-4 hrs on 300.

Yes you can use that meat. I make my regular recipe, add some browned meat and onions, cook on 450 for 1.5 hours and then cover overnight on 220.

Thank you. so one person says bake for 1/2 hour on 450 and the other says 1.5 hours...I guess I'll do somewhere in between?

I think top of rib roast is tougher than flanken, I would not do it.

I once tried substituting flanken in a yapchik, and it did not go over well in my house.

Just my opinion.

This. The meat will be very dry. You need a fatty cut.

I agree. Top of the rib will be okay, but nowhere near as amazing as a fattier meat.
