Hi, looks like I'm going to be going to mikvah on the first night of sukkos. We'll be staying in Boro Park, and I'm looking for recommendations of a mikvah near 55th and 17th.

Some requests -
- Is there a place I can prep/bathe at earlier in the day, since I may not have access to a tub where we're staying?
- We're not Chassidish, so I would want to make sure I wouldn't have any issue if my nails aren't as short or whatever, since I couldn't do anything about it on yt. (not sure if that would actually be an issue, but just wanted to know in advance)

Thank you!

I think the mikvah at 58 between 15-16 is a good match for you.
Call them with all your questions

I'd highly recommend the new Satmar mikva on Dahill Road. It's gorgeous, clean, and new and I'm pretty sure you can prep before Yom Tov. It's a bit further than the 58th Street mikva mentioned upthread, but I think it's worth it.

Please call them to double check if they’ll make an issue with longer nails… before going

I never heard of anyone allowing uncut nails besides Sephardim. It's not a Chassidish thing - all Ashkenazim cut their nails.

They make a big issue with uncut nails.

OP just said not as short, nothing about uncut. Out of curiosity, do the BP Mikvahs check on shabbos and Yom Tov? None of the Flatbush mikvaos I’ve gone to on shabbos had any form of checking going on.

If they are cut and neat Mikvah Yisroel won't make an issue (some white is ok). They may have an issue for actual long nails but usually they're not supposed to check you on YT - you're supposed to check yourself.

Ditmas will require very short nails and the walk is long for you anyway, so avoid the Satmar mikvah.

You have an option of not getting checked on 58 street. Not only on shabbos/yt, every day as well.

Thanks everyone!

To clarify, I do cut and file my nails, I just leave some white (as long as it's below the tip of the finger). I also have long hair (fully washed and combed, etc.), so yeah, I just wouldn't want any concerns that my rav says aren't an issue.

Oh that's good to know! I've actually never gone on Shabbos/yt before. Somehow it's never come up in the time I've been married.

Doubt it will be a problem - most places don't check on Shabbos or Yom Tov.
