I may need to go to the Mikva on 18th Ave. and 47th St. on Yom Tov.
I’ve never been there before and I’ve never been to a Mikva with no appointments (I don’t live in Brooklyn.)
Can anyone tell me about it -where do you go in, what’s it like, is there usually a long wait, anything else I should know?
Thanks!

The door is on 47th Street (not 18th Ave). Walk in, walk up the few stairs, and you'll see a waiting room. Sit and wait until it's your turn for a room (they will direct you).
Undress, check yourself, put on robe and knock on the door to let the lady know that you're ready.

Thanks.
How many people are usually there?

Also is there anything else I should know if I need to go motzai yom tov instead?

You can call them and ask.
You may also want to find out when they're open erev Yom tov for preparation and to be checked, if that would interest you.

There's also another mikva really close to that one by 18 and 50th. It is a smaller mikvah and usually a lot emptier. I don't really use either of those, but I did a few times in the past when I lived next to 47th. I once went to 47 on a Friday night (years ago) and it was an awkward and uncomfortable experience for me. The 50th place is generally a lot quieter (like a 10 minute wait for a room on erev yom kippur morning kind of quiet).

I think she means Mikvah Hameor on 18 & 50
5010 18th Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Entrance is in alleyway, not on the avenue

It's hard to find the entrance as it's non descript and not on 18th Ave like the address listed. It's on 50th Street between 17&18. The first alleyway after the corner shul/mikvah building.
