A few years ago one of the jewish magazines ( I think it was whisk sukkos issue) had a recipe for chocholate mousse that uses pareve yogurt and no raw eggs. I made the recipe for a few years and now I lost it does anyone have that recipe or perhaps a similarly healthy one? Thanks! It's a family favorite....

I just want to beg you to not use avocadoes!
I was at someone's house once, and the hostess kept saying "I'll bet you can't guess the secret ingredient!" I knew it right away, but didn't say because she was so darn proud.
It was absolutely disgusting, and a waste of perfectly good chocolate and avocadoes. Two of my favorite things, that should never, EVER be smooshed together!

You can also make it with avocado but I don't have the recipe handy. You can easily find it.

Sorry, I didn't see FFs post. I actually like it using avocado but it does taste a bit like a vegetable.

If you consider tofu healthy (use silken tofu):

Puree one cake of tofu with 1/2 cup of sugar.
Melt one bag of chocolate chips.
Puree it into the tofu mixture.
This makes an incredibly rich, silky frosting. And NOBODY will guess it's tofu. I've tried other flavors, like lemon, but the tofu flavor is a lot stronger. You could add some instant coffee for a mocha frosting or some mint extract.
You can also serve this in little dishes and call it chocolate mousse. |
You may want to add vanilla to this as well.
